The Power of the Word of God

Thy Word is a Lamp unto my feet, and a Light unto my path. (Psalms 119:105) Image

Where to start I guess we will jump right in to what what John said when he wrote In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)! The first Scripture in John’s Gospel explains the very essence of life! it explains that God’s Word is everything and was always! This means that the Light, the sun, the moon, the stars, the planets, humans and so on were all created through the Word of God! Without the Word we would be and are nothing! We as humans must get this concept that when God speaks they aren’t just words without meaning, but His Words are the very meaning of life and how to live “life more abundantly!” (John 10:10) I also want to bring out another giant revelation in John’s writing the Word was God.” (John 1:1) Who is John talking about? Who is the Word? If you read the rest of the chapter you will realize that He is talking about Jesus! John wrote that “All things were made by Him (Jesus); and without Him was not any thing made that was made.” (John 1:3) We find out the Word is Jesus, and that Jesus is God! Praise the Lord! It opens your eyes to seeing the Bible not just as a book but a literal conversation with Jesus! Jesus said My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. (John 10:27) I have had many people ask “why doesn’t God speak to me?” or they will say “God never speaks to me.” But we must understand that God’s Voice is His Word “the Voice of His Word.” (Psalms 103:20), and whoever will take time out and listen to what Jesus is saying and will “humble himself as this little child” (Matthew 18:4) to the Voice of the Father and lives out what the Word says will inherit the Kingdom of Heaven! Praise Jesus!
We could go on and on about the Word and how important it is in everyday life! The Lord’s Prayer declares “Give us this day our daily Bread.” (Matthew 6:11) The Bread He is talking about here is the Word! Jesus said “I Am the bread of Life.” (John 6:35) Jesus said “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds from the Mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4 & Luke 4:4) This was a Scripture know throughout all of Israel as it was written in the Torah! (Deuteronomy 8:3) We must also understand that without the Words of Jesus we would have no understanding on the Power of the Holy Spirit! (John 14:26) and if we didn’t understand the Power of the Holy Spirit we wouldn’t be able to effectively live out God’s great Commission! (Mark 16:15-20) The prophet Isaiah proclaimed that “The grass withers, the flower fades, But the Word of our God stands forever.” (Isaiah 40:8) The Apostle Peter quoted Isaiah’s writings proclaiming “All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers,
And its flower falls away, But the Word of the Lord endures forever.” (1 Peter 1:24-25) Jesus Himself said that “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My Words shall not pass away.” (Matthew 24:35, Mark 13:31, and Luke 21:33) So I encourage you seek God with all your heart, get the Bible off the shelf, blow the dust off, and Listen to Your Father God! “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7)
Be hungry for the Word of God!
And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35)
Grace and Peace be added to you in Jesus Name!
